“There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them”- Vicki Baum

Cheryl has always had a love of dance.  As a teenager, she took Ballet, Pointe and Jazz.  She continued dancing through high school and after
college. In college she studied Biology and Chemistry and went on to get her Masters in Biology at the University of Iowa. Upon graduation, she worked as a research associate at the University of Iowa. In 1998. Cheryl married her high school sweetheart and moved to Houston Texas where she worked for Baylor College of Medicine.   A job offer from Ventana Medical Systems, brought Cheryl and her husband to Tucson in 2006. It was here that her husband purchased introductory ballroom lessons as an anniversary gift and Cheryl’s love of dance was rekindled.

Since 2012, Cheryl has participated in multiple expos and competed as an amateur in the 2014 Sunburst Ball.  She has received coaching from notable figures such as Ron Montez, Devorah Kastner and Elizabeth Keyes. 2017 has brought a new chapter in Cheryl’s life as she has decided
to share her passion for dance with others by becoming a professional dance instructor.
